Evaluation

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms or conventions of real media products?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? After doing research I have decided that the right kind of institution that would distribute my music magazine would be Bauer.

http://www.bauermedia.co.uk/

"Bauer Media reaches over nineteen million UK adults across multiple media channels. We have more than eighty influential media brands spanning a wide range of interests, including heat, GRAZIA, Closer, MCN, FHM, Parker's, MATCH, Magic 105.4, Kiss 100, Kerrang!, 4Music and the Big City Network, our group of twenty local radio stations. Bauer also has the market leading music and entertainment titles, Q, Mojo and KERRANG! Q harnesses the music and lifestyle audience, Mojo continues its crusade for timeless music and KERRANG! rocks its audience every week. Market-leading movie magazine Empire continues to excite with its record breaking covers."

Due to Bauer distibuting Kerrang!, and with this also being a rock magazine I have decided to also go with this company as it may push ‘Kerrang!’ off the market slightly making room for my magazine of ‘RockOut’ which is new and contempary.

Below is an image of Kerrang! magazine which is distributed by Bauer Media:

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Josh Gilroy is 17 years old and his favourite genre of music is Rock. He plays the guitar and likes to listen to music in his spare time, he buys various monthly rock magazines, therefore would be the perfect audience for my magazine. Below are two YouTube clips of his band peforming, all of the people in these videos would fit into my target audience as they are all in the age range of teenagers up to young adults and are all rock fans both male and female.

Below are two youtube clips which show my target audience, as the audience watching this rock band would be ideal for my audience with them enjoying rock music. They are also all young adults which also fits into my initial target audience.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

6. What have you learnt from technologies from the process of constructing this product?

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
